The Experiments Labs engine was a good exercise, but I have no more time to spend on it. It will be archived and the website will become a standard Rails application.

I started ExperimentsLabs as a place for people to expose their projects (dev or not). It was first written in PHP (CakePHP3), then re-written in Ruby (Rails), as an engine.

The main idea behind the engine was "if you want to make your own instance, go on, there is even an example website that integrates it". And I was happy with it.

Time passed, and a lot of ideas made their way in my head, but I was stuck with this "well, maybe it don't belong to the engine, or maybe another one", so development slowed down. Today, after almost two years, it seems that nobody used this, so it's time for a big decision: i'll move the engine back to a standard Rails application.

There's a bit of sadness, but a lot of relief.

More on this in the next months :)
